Mission 316

A Different way of doing church

UPDATE - 3-28-20

Hey Church!

Well, another week is behind us during these challenging times.  How are you doing?  I have asked and answered that question a few times this week.  I’ve been thinking of each of you and praying for you and your faith!

This time we are going through is helping advance the gospel!  Over 1000 people viewed our service last week… far more than when just meeting physically! Remember this is REAL OPPORTUNITY for us, the church, to shine brightly! We are not just the ‘CHURCH ONLINE” but “THE CHURCH ON THE LINE”. Let’s step up!

I want to share with you some things God has been revealing during these days and I will do so tomorrow during our broadcast.  The song sheet for the service is attached if you’d like to sing along!

Here are the details:

Tomorrow, Sunday, March 29th, we will be live again on Facebook Live on our page entitled Mission 316.  Join us there.  If you don’t have an account, I believe you can still watch it by googling “Mission 316 Facebook” and that should bring you to our public page.  Also, you may be able to watch this from our website at mission316church.com and participate from there. (It will be under Video resources).  If you have Facebook, I’d suggest using this first.
Nevertheless, working live or not on the website, later on Sunday, we’ll post the service on our webpage at mission316church.com (after a couple of hours or less). Last week's message is there also – look under VIDEO resources.
Monday, March 30th at 6:30 pm,  we’ll be doing a meeting of the congregation by teleconference.  This will be a ZOOM meeting that you can join on your smartphone or tablet – or any device that has a web camera.  You can also join it by phone only.  Here are some zoom instructions:

Jesus loves and so do I,

Pastor Sam

PS- Thank you for your continued participation and stewardship to God. Please consider giving online during this time through the church website - under “Donate” or on the Givelify app (Mission 316 in San Marcos) on your phone, or mail your offering to PO Box 668, San Marcos CA  92079. Thanks to so many of you who have continued giving when you can’t be here – through the mail, online and dropping tithes off in person.!  (80% of Mission316’s giving comes from Sunday services, and your faithfulness is vital as we navigate these times together.)  Be blessed~

UPDATE ON 3-21-20

Hello from Mission 316,

Just a quick update.  As you know by now, we are mostly STAYING AT HOME where possible.  This mandate has changed things up again for M316 and our service plans.  We had originally planned on having 10 people (total) at our house for worship tomorrow (3-22-20) and streaming that service online.  With these latest changes, we now will plan the following:

Judy, Joaquin and I will meet together to provide the service online.  It will be broadcast at 10 AM (PST) tomorrow on Facebook Live.  We would like everyone to plan on attending.  Check in a few minutes to the “Mission 316” page (and if you haven’t already “liked” it, please do so).

Once the service begins, please let us know you are watching – by leaving comments, shout outs, prayer requests etc. in the comment section. This will enable all of us to “encourage one another”.

If you don’t have Facebook, we will attempt to have the service up on this website within the hour – of it's broadcast. We also hope to broadcast on YouTube soon and we will let you know the details.

Further, we will be planning meetings for Prayer and Praise soon. These will be done by way of “Zoom Teleconferencing” software.  You will get an email invitation to the meeting and can join us on your phone. tablet, laptop - or home computer – if it has a camera and microphone. You’ll simply need to click on the link in the email.

As a friend of ours said “Make the best of the worst of times”.  To me, that means keeping God first in our lives, digging into His Word (rather than just binging on Netflix), doing “good” for all the people you can, and using this extra time to get closer as a family.

Need a word of encouragement?  Here you go:

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Please don’t hesitate to call me with any needs you may have, to share a prayer request, or just to chat a few moments.  Judy and I are eager to minister to you in any way we can!

That’s it for now… stay safe in HIS love, Pastor Sam (760.659.0316)
